My current forced slow down is due to a total knee replacement, with the second knee replacement scheduled for April 8th. So with plenty of time to reflect this 62 year old wants to SHOUT OUT!!!! Please take time to rest your body and your mind.

As a young person I jumped gun-hoe into everything, I had so much to prove. I was responding whole heartedly to my culture egging me on. "You can work round the clock, day and night all year long!!!!", and so I did. What I didn't understand was that my culture at the time was some type of artificial construct. Maybe growing up in England when the country was still going through reconstruction and reinvention after WWII was the culprit or maybe the world got greedy because it could, with all the mechanical aids there to help.

Listening to this conversation feels like such a wonderful balm to my soul. How I wish as a young person that wisdom was available and around me. By listening to this conversation I can see how living in community allows for the luxury of wisdom, your young people are beyond lucky to have this, for it does not exist in modern culture.

So really, if only we all listened to Mother Nature. She would whisper that everything has limits. Live within the rhythms of the seasons, stay flexible or something will break.

In 2018 I spent ten days doing a permaculture class at Dancing Rabbit and my nervous system loved the quiet, and rhythm of life there.

Thank you Liz. When I have interesting things to read and listen too like this, it makes recovering from surgery infinitely more bearable, I thank you for your Hub journey.

Plenty of joy and wisdom has been gained today from my hour or two of perusal of your content.

I remember you from our 2018 permaculture class, but weren't you helping out in the Mercantile kitchen then? The food at DR was gloriously full of flavor, wholesome and fueled us for the long day ahead.

Yes, I was part of a coop running the Mercantile, which has since folded.
