Straw Bale Walls
A signature method of natural building.
Why?
They provide excellent insulation, contain fewer toxins than conventional materials, and use an agricultural byproduct that would otherwise be wasted.
The bales are typically laid and then coated with a protective plaster to strengthen and protect them from the outside elements.
In this video, Liz takes us through the process of building a straw bale wall outside The Hub.
